TURKEY TROT - THANKSGIVING MORNING!
Thanksgiving morning
4rd Annual 2007 Hailey Turkey Trot 5K Fun Run & Walk. Where your money goes: A portion of registration fees will be donated to the Souper Supper Community Dining Room..."A hot meal for anyone who needs one." Your fee also includes event schwag and warm refreshments provided by Hailey Coffee Company after the race. Registration is allowed on race day (please arrive no later than 9am), but we STRONGLY ENCOURAGE that you utilize the online registration function if at all possible. Your entry fee will be discounted and it will make the check-in process that much easier. Thank you inadvance! Race will be run RAIN, SNOW or SHINE. Register Online!

1ST ANNUAL CROY CLIMB
Saturday, September 6th
Rotarun and the Hailey Chamber of Commerce have put together the first ever Croy Fun Run. The Croy Fun Run is a 4-mile run which will begin at 9 a.m., September 7th, at the BMX Park on the backside of Rotarun. Runners are encouraged to park at the Rivers Street Park & Ride in Hailey and utilize the free shuttle. Registration is available at Sturtevants in Hailey and Ketchum, or race morning at the start. $10 for adults, $5 for kids 15 & under

TRAILING OF THE SHEEP FESTIVAL

12TH Annual Festival will be October 10-12, 2008.
The 2007 Trailing of the Sheep Festival was ranked among the "Top 10 Fall Festivals in the World" by MSN Travel!

The 12th annual festival October 10-12, celebrates Songs and Stories from Sheepherding.

The 2007 Festival, which took place in Ketchum and Hailey October 12-14, celebrated the Peruvian culture's contribution to the sheepherding tradition with the sights, stories, and sounds of Peru. The event included special music, food, dance, workshops, tours, and lectures, culminating in an unforgettable sheep parade. Also represented in our sheep ranching are the Basque, Scottish, Polish, and Celtic cultures.

The Hailey Chamber of Commerce and the So. Valley Merchants’ Alliance bring you safe “Trick or Treating” for the kids in downtown Hailey.  There will be treats, games, costume contest at the Liberty Theater, and a store decorating contest.

TRAILING OF THE SHEEP FESTIVAL
October 8-10, 2010
"Trailing of the Sheep Festival" follows a nearly 100 year-old tradition and will be led by one of four local sheep ranching families, as well as historic sheep wagons, Basque Dancers, Polish Highlanders, Peruvian Dancers and Musicians, and the Boise Highlanders bagpipers and drummers. Events include variety of cultural activities and programs relating to the history of sheep ranching in the Wood River Valley and Idaho.

5TH ANNUAL WONDERGIRL 5K & HEALTHY LIVING EXPO
Saturday, May 17, 2008

Come out and celebrate the Wondergirl in your life: your daughter, your mothers, your sister, or your wife!  The 5th annual Wondergirl 5k & Healthy Living Expo (formerly the community 5k) is the same event with the same cause, to benefit Girls on the Run.  A 5k (3.1 miles) fun run/walk welcomes all ages and abilities to come walk, run, or stroll the Della View neighborhood in Hailey.  Following the race, stay for the Healthy Living Expo with vendors, crafts, and kids activities brought to you by the YMCA. 2008 HAILEY SPRINGFEST

The Hailey Chamber of Commerce and Mountain West Bank, Hailey, invite you to attend the Annual Springfest Arts and Crafts Fair Saturday and Sunday, May 24 & 25, Memorial Day Weekend, from 10AM to 6PM in Roberta McKercher Park, just north of the airport.  There will be over 60 arts and crafts vendors, 10 food booths, lots of free entertainment, and a bouncy castle for the kids.  More than 50% of the arts and crafts vendors are new this year, which will add to the fun and variety.  There is no admission fee. The Senior Center (across the street) is offering an "all you can eat pancake breakfast" with eggs, sausage, bacon and drinks for $10 or $5 for children or people 60 years and older.

For advance tickets by mail, beginning first part of May, fill out the ticket order form and mail as directed on the form. We will return tickets by mail. We do not have the ability to take credit cards. .

NORTHERN ROCKIES FOLK FESTIVAL
August 1-2, 2008
It’s a jubilee! In August of this year, the Northern Rockies Folk Festival celebrates 31 years of great music and good old-fashioned family fun. Featured performers this year include Radney Foster, The Gourds, and Marley's Ghost.

The extravaganza takes place in its traditional locale at Hop Porter Park in Hailey, Idaho. Tickets are $20 if purchased early, $25 at the gate. Visit www.nrff.net for 2008 event information.

RELAY FOR LIFE

The 14th Relay for Life, a fun-filled overnight affair designed to celebrate survivorship and raise money to help the American Cancer Society, will occur at the Wood River High School Date TBD. < br/>Survivors are invited to participate in the pre- Relay Bar-B-Q at 5:30pm, Friday, followed by the opening ceremony and the sruvivors` victory lap at 7pm. Teams will stay through the night doing laps around the track. There will be entertainment and snacks for Relay participants throughout the night and into the morning. The luminaria ceremony at 10:00pm Friday night is one of the most special and moving events in the entire Relay For Life. Everyone gathers around to remember those lost to cancer, support those fighting cancer, and rejoice with those who have fought the disease and won. Luminarias are available for a contribution to the American Cancer Society. For more information visit their webiste.

FEBRUARY 7TH, 2009
Kiwanis Club of Hailey challeges you to the 3rd Annual Chili Cook Off! The event will take place at the Blaine County Senior Center (721 3rd Ave, Hailey) on February 7th, noon - 3pm. The proceeds from this event will be used for swimming lessons to benefit the local Head Start Kids. $5.00 for adult and $2.00 for a child includes tasting of ALL the chili entries, cornbread & beverages.

In conjunction with the Wood River Festival of Trees, the Kiwanis Club of Hailey and the Blaine County Senior Connection invite all of the kids in the Valley to the Winter Wonderland being held at the Blaine County Senior Center, 721 South 3rd Avenue, Hailey (across from the Armory), on Saturday December 1, from noon until 3PM. There will be lots of fun craft activities including making a Ginger Bread House. There will also be refreshments, and a visit from Santa Claus. The cost for each child is $5, parents are free.

SIXTH ANNUAL SNOW BOX DERBY
Sunday, February 24

Blaine County Rec District and Rotarun Ski Area are fired up to host the 6th annual Snow Box Derby on Sunday, February 24.  The Snow Derby features sliding contraptions, made only from cardboard, paint and tape, racing down the ski hill.  This is an event for the whole family.  Participants and spectators will experience lots of fun and some healthy competition on race day.  Call the Rec District office for more details.
