Hailey Days of the Old West – The Best Small Town 4th of July Celebration in The West

June 2015: Hailey, Idaho offers up perhaps the most quintessential small town 4th of July celebration in the west. Each year Hailey Days of the Old West, July 3-5, plays host to the exciting Sawtooth Rangers rodeo, a fun and unique parade on Main Street with colorful entries and plenty of horses, antique markets, pancake breakfasts, a children’s carnival, plenty of live music, a spectacular fireworks display and the new Draper Preserve River Festival. There is plenty to do and authentic entertainment for all ages.

Here is the run-down of what is happening in Hailey over the weekend:

Pancake Breakfast: The local area Boy Scouts offer up a hot full breakfast of homemade pancakes, eggs, bacon, sausage, and more at the Grange Hall in Hailey. It’s the perfect way to get fueled for the long, fun day ahead.
 Date/Time: July 4th, 7am – 10:30am
 Tickets: $7.00 Adults – $5.00 Kids – $20.00 Family of 4

Children’s Carnival: Kids will find plenty of opportunities for fun and games at the carnival, hosted by the Spirit “N’ Motion Athletic School and held on the Farmer’s Market lot on Main Street in Hailey.
 Date/Time: July 4th, 9am – 4pm
 Tickets: $10 at the door

Hailey Days of the Old West Parade: Over 75 enthusiastic parade entrants march down Hailey’s Main Street to delight the crowd! This year’s parade theme is ‘The Wild, Wild West’ and the Grand Marshals are Jane and Ken Drussel.
 Dates/Time: July 4th, 12noon to 1:30pm

Draper Preserve River Festival: After the City of Hailey’s July 4th parade, continue your Independence Day celebration with a stroll down to the Draper Wood River Preserve for some sun and family fun! The new Draper Preserve River Festival will feature a shoot-out melodrama, food, music, river activities, face-painting, educational nature programs and more.
 Dates/Time: July 4th, 2pm – 5pm

Sawtooth Rangers 4th of July Rodeo: Rodeo is a proud tradition in the West and in Hailey, the Sawtooth Rangers have held an exciting professional rodeo, featuring some of the best riders and stock in the country, over the 4th of July weekend every year since 1947. In 2011 the City of Hailey invested over $3 million to build a new state-of-the-art rodeo arena and grounds at the entrance to the city to play host to the Sawtooth Rangers Rodeo as well as other events throughout the year.
 Dates/times: July 2-July 4, 7:30pm (pre-events start at 6:30)
 Tickets: General Admission only – Adults: $11 plus tax pre purchase $15 at the gate
Children 10 – under: $6 plus tax pre purchase; $10 at the gate
Tickets will be on sale at the Hailey Welcome Center and all three Atkinsons’ Market locations.

4th of July Fireworks Extravaganza: The City of Hailey proudly presents a 4th of July Fireworks Extravaganza that is simply spectacular. Watch the show from your favorite spot in Hailey and celebrate a fitting end to a fabulous 4th of July.
 Dates/times: July 4, Dusk (9-9:30pm)

Hailey Antique Fairs: Nothing is more fun than browsing for unique treasures at a well-curated antique show, and the Hailey Antique Fairs have some of the best antique vendors and wares in the region. You will be sure to find that perfect one-of-a-kind something!
