Help Hailey Bring Back the 4th!
The Hailey Chamber of Commerce wants Hailey to “Bring Back the 4th!”. Liberty Mutual is hosting a contest that allows towns from across America to compete for $10,000 “Bring Back the 4th” grants. Liberty Mutual will be giving away ten $10,000 grants and you can help Hailey earn a grant for the 4th of July fireworks celebration.

Go to www.BringBackthe4th.com and take the brief quiz by June 14th. At the end of the quiz you will be asked for the town and zip code. Be sure to enter Hailey, ID and 83333. The quiz questions relate to American history. Each quiz taken is counted as an entry. Entries are not dependent on correct answers to the quiz.

“This is one way that we can all contribute to the fireworks fund”, said Heather LaMonica Deckard, Executive Director of the Hailey Chamber of Commerce. “We really want to see Wood River Valley show their 4th of July spirit. Take the quiz and pass on the web link to your friends and family. We only have until the 14th of June so the pressure is on, but we believe Hailey can do it”.

Hailey Historical Preservation News
The Hailey Historical Preservation Commission is working on a walking tour of signs to display on important historical buildings in Hailey. Recently Hailey has been awarded the Preserve America Community Designation. Hailey also has several buildings that have been added to the National Register of Historical places. With this rich heritage our goal is to help promote this wonderful history to our community and visitors. We have a generous donation from a member of our commission to pay for the first four historical signs. We have been working on getting the historical text about each of the four buildings and a photo from the Martyn Mallory collection to include on the signs. After we get the first four signs made and displayed on the buildings we plan to pursue funds for putting up more historical signs around our community. Our commission is very excited about this project and would like to get the word spread to the chamber members about promoting our history through the walking tour of historical signs.
Attached in the right section of the newsletter is a mock up of what the historical signs will look like (JC Fox Building).
